Pricing and scope guide

The same monthly retainer can describe very different work.

Short answer

To compare social media management proposals fairly, define the channels, production responsibilities, approval workflow, community coverage, paid media and reporting before comparing price.

Approach

Make the subject clear enough to support a decision.

A core engagement may include strategy, calendar planning, copy, design, publishing and reporting. Photography, video shoots, daily community management, influencer coordination and ad buying are often separate.

More posts are not automatically more valuable. A repeatable production system that adapts one strong idea for each platform can be more efficient than a high volume of weak assets.

A useful proposal lists monthly outputs, shoot hours, edit rounds, response coverage, ad account work, usage rights, meetings and out-of-scope rates.

Frequently asked questions

Before you decide

Is ad spend included?

Usually not. Platform spend and agency management fees should be shown as separate costs.

Is content production always included?

No. Some packages only adapt materials supplied by the client; shoots, crew and editing should be stated explicitly.

How many posts do we need?

There is no universal number. Audience, platform, production capacity, content quality and business goals determine the right rhythm.
